The Party Wall Act 1996 came into force for the whole of England and Wales on 1 July 1997. The basic provision of the Act confers a responsibility on a building owner or occupier to notify the adjoining owners if any work is to be undertaken on or near a wall or boundary with an adjoining property.

There are detailed procedures which must be followed when implementing the requirements of the Party Wall Act. We are able to implement these procedures and act on behalf of the company undertaking the work or on behalf of the adjoining owner.
